To enjoy the view from lofty heights, the roof tent has large windows all around. All windows are equipped with a very fine, robust mosquito net, weather protection that can be closed from the inside, as well as special roofs that allow ventilation even in heavy rain. The two panoramic skylights, which allow a view of the stars at night or illuminate the tent during the day, are unique. For late risers, the roof windows naturally have a layer of fabric that can be closed from the inside.

Tent fabric

The tent fabric consists of a very high-quality 300 g mixed fabric, including also known as canvas or canvas. The fiber is a material work of art made of cotton and polyester and combines the advantages of a natural fiber with those of modern high-tech material. The result is a strong, breathable fabric with a pleasant feel and great dimensional stability.

The tent fabric, which is also used by the military, is impregnated and extra tear-resistant. All seams are made with a special thread that expands after the first contact with water and seals any seam holes.

Tent base

The tent base consists of a glass fiber reinforced thermoplastic honeycomb floor. This design is characterized by high flexural strength with extremely low weight and excellent flatness – perfect for the car roof.

The poles of the tents are not made of cardboard but of strong anodized aluminum and special stainless steel components. This modern surface finish offers a high level of corrosion protection and a pleasant feel.

Roof Rack Tent FAQ

This is a collection of frequently asked questions about our roof rack tents. We constantly strive to answer all questions in a way that is easy to understand and based on our experience. Please understand that despite carefully researched information, errors can always creep in.

Does the roof tent also fit on my vehicle?
The roof tent can be mounted on almost any vehicle that has a dynamic roof load of at least 60kg. You only need 2 cross struts/load carriers. The roof tent is then attached to the cross struts/load carriers with the enclosed materials. Mounting DIRECTLY on a roof rail is not recommended as the distance to the roof is very small and the U-bolts can cause scratches. So you also need cross struts/load carriers for roof rails. You can of course also find these roof racks for your vehicle in our shop.

But doesn’t the roof tent weigh a lot more with me?
For most vehicles, the roof load is between 160 – 200 pounds, but this information relates to the load during driving! When standing, the weight that acts on the roof can be significantly higher. Remember that if the car rolls over, it must be able to lie on the roof.

The tent is wet from the rain … can I fold it up?
Yes of course. Close all doors and windows and fold up the tent. You can leave the tent wet packed for a few days … but by the 3rd day at the latest, you should put it up somewhere to ventilate.

How can the roof tent be cleaned?
Usually, the dirt rolls off liberally when it comes into contact with water. If that’s not enough, we recommend our tent cleaner, which you can find in our shop.

Can I quickly remove the roof tent from the vehicle?
Yes, we recommend removing the carrier (to which the roof tent is attached) with the roof tent to dismantle the roof tent. These are unlocked with one hand movement and the roof tent holds them perfectly in position for the next assembly. Time required under 5 minutes.

Can I leave my bed linen in the tent?
You can leave the bed linen in the tent and fold up the roof tent.
