The days are getting shorter and cooler – something warm is just right for hiking. 1 liter of hot water in a thermos can make outdoor life a lot easier in autumn. Here are 3 tips on what you can use it for.
1. Hot drinks
Sounds simple, but makes a lot of sense. In combination with a single pack of instant coffee or a tea bag, you can prepare a warm drink at any time – with or without caffeine as you need it. Even after a rather uncomfortable night outdoors, a little espresso can work wonders. More expensive, but possibly an option for passionate coffee connoisseurs: With the mini espresso machine from our shop, you can manually prepare real espresso or coffee on the go. All you need is a little hot water.
2. Warm food
Preparing either a “drinking soup” from the pack or a trekking meal is just as easy and effective. The latter brings e.g. from Travellunch only 125 g on the scales and is a complete, warm dish that provides enough energy on hikes. The good old soup is also an excellent source of energy and heat.
3. Hot water bottle
Hot water from the thermos flask filled into a normal (caution: 100% leak-proof!) Plastic or drinking bottle can quickly be converted into a hot water bottle. Especially useful when you are traveling with children, as chilled children only slowly warm up again.
Of course, you can also make hot water yourself. Simply light a campfire and heat water from, for example, a spring in a special camping stove, which you can find in our shop, for example. We should water what they take from a spring or a river, for example, Always boil first To kill bacteria germs.
